Here is my Tileable Image Gallery. The programs used for creating these images include custom made programs, ppmforge, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe PhotoShop, and Povray.
Enhancing simple 2D tileable images
Simple 2D tileable images can be enhanced by tilting and rotating them, but this is quite accurate business so you might want to check some mathematics.
Rendering tileable images with POVRAY
A very neat way to create tileable images is to use some modelling and rendering software. I have used Povray 3 with it's new orthographic camera quite successfully.
Once again, check the hints, tricks and some math.
Fractals in polar coordinates
One can also calculate fractals in polar coordinates to get images that are tileable in one direction. I have a couple custom made programs for this purpose.

Images you create yourself by using the methods above are all yours. Still it would be nice to have a reference back to this page, but it is really up to you ...
